Thai Team Lead
What you'll do
The Thai team lead (QAL) keeps Thai training data consistent. You spot-check items, give feedback to trainers and QAs by direct message, escalate recurring problems and answer questions on Thai wording, tone, politeness level, formatting and edge cases.
You also own the paperwork (style guides, trackers, FAQs, honeypots), run onboarding calls and nudge inactive contributors. Thai-specific formatting is called out: word spacing, sentence flow, loanwords and honorifics. The ad says selection involves an AI interview, a domain-specific task and an interview with a recruiter. The ad says there is no immediate project for this role. If you qualify you are placed among the first experts contacted when a relevant project opens, so this is a waiting list for future work, not a start date.
What you need
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Thai, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, Quality Assurance or a related field
- Native or near-native Thai with strong reading and writing
- Good English for guidelines and feedback
- 3+ years in Thai writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training or annotation
- Strong grasp of Thai grammar, register and politeness markers
- Comfort with Discord, Google Sheets and Docs and project trackers
Nice to have
- Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers or QAs
- AI training, annotation or rubric-based LLM QA experience
Where it is open
Applicants must be in Cambodia, China, Thailand, the United Kingdom or the United States, a wider list than the expert role, which excludes China, the UK and the US.
What it pays
SME Careers lists this role at up to $30 an hour. That is a ceiling, not a rate: the ad does not say what a typical contractor earns, or how hours are allocated. It does not state payment terms either; SuperAnnotate's general process (Deel contracts, a paid bootcamp, tracked hourly work) is covered on the company page. The Thai Language Expert listing caps at $20, so this lead role adds $10 at the ceiling.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Widest country list of the two Thai roles, including the UK and the US
- Leadership scope and a $30 ceiling
- Transferable QA and documentation experience
Less good:
- No project is open yet
- Selection has three stages
- Part of the job is management chores
- The ceiling is not a guaranteed rate
About this listing
Read from the SME Careers jobs board on 27 October 2026. The board gives no posting date, so we cannot say how long the role has been open. The interview, onboarding and time-tracking process is on the company page rather than repeated here. See SuperAnnotate.
