Ukrainian Team Lead

What you'll do

The Ukrainian team lead (QAL) is responsible for how consistent and accurate Ukrainian training data is. You spot-check items, give feedback to trainers and QAs, escalate repeating problems and answer questions on wording, register and translation fidelity.

The ad calls out Ukrainian grammar specifics (declension, gender agreement, incorrect case usage) and formal, neutral and conversational registers. On top of that sit onboarding calls, Discord updates, style guides, trackers and chasing inactive contributors. The ad says selection involves an AI interview, a domain-specific task and an interview with a recruiter.

What you need

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Ukrainian, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, QA or a related field
• Native or near-native Ukrainian with strong reading and writing
• Good English for guidelines and feedback
• 3+ years in Ukrainian writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training or annotation
• Strong understanding of declension, gender agreement, tone and register
• Comfort with Discord, Google Sheets and Docs and trackers

Nice to have

• Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers or QAs
• AI training, annotation or rubric-based LLM QA experience

Where it is open

Applicants must be in Canada, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Poland, the United States or Ukraine, which reaches Ukrainian speakers abroad as well as at home.

What it pays

SME Careers lists this role at up to $30 an hour. That is a ceiling, not a rate: the ad does not say what a typical contractor earns, or how hours are allocated.
