What you'll do
This is hands-on QA for an AI voice product, done in German. You install a specific version of an application on your own device, then work through test scenarios set out in complex project instructions. As you go you record the audio the system produces and judge it on three fronts the listing names: whether it followed the instructions, whether its logic holds up, and how the system behaves overall.
What you report is bugs, inconsistencies and naturalness problems. Naturalness is where a native speaker matters most: a German voice that is technically correct but stresses the wrong syllable, uses stiff phrasing no one in Germany would say, or switches register mid-sentence is a failure a non-native tester will often miss.
The listing does not name the application, the device or operating system required, or how many scenarios make up a session. The compatible device and OS setup is confirmed during the application process.
Who fits
- Fluency in German as spoken in Germany; the listing asks for this variety specifically, so Austrian or Swiss German alone may not match
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Comfort following long, detailed guidelines exactly
- A compatible device and operating system (the listing does not say which)
The listing prefers people from creative, instructional or generative work: content creation, curriculum design, writing, media production and similar fields. That is a preference rather than a requirement; people from those backgrounds are used to judging whether something sounds right to an audience. No country of residence is required.
What it pays
$17 an hour, the standard rate for Invisible's voice and audio work. The listing does not say whether installation and device setup time is paid.
The contract terms say payment is weekly via Stripe or Wise, and that Invisible cannot support H-1B or STEM OPT contractors.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Closer to software testing than to repetitive labelling, with some variety in scenarios
- Suits creative professionals as well as testers
- Remote, on your own schedule
Less good:
- $17 an hour, low for work that mixes QA with native-language judgment
- You must install test software on your own device, and the listing does not name the app or the device requirements
- A resume upload (about 5 minutes) and an unpaid qualification step (about 30 minutes) before any paid work
- No minimum amount of work; independent contractor terms with no benefits
