What you'll do
This listing covers three language varieties of the Hindi belt in northern India, each a separate track: Awadhi, Bundeli and Haryanvi. You apply for one only, the one you speak most fluently. The work is voice and audio evaluation in that variety:
- Recording voice content
- Reviewing audio samples
- Cross-comparing spoken recordings with written text, judging accuracy, clarity, naturalness and adherence to guidelines
The three varieties are usually grouped under Hindi but differ from standard Hindi in pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. Awadhi is spoken across central Uttar Pradesh, Bundeli in the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, and Haryanvi in Haryana and around Delhi. Speech models built on standard Hindi tend to flatten them, which is why a project would pay native speakers to record and check them. The track names on the listing call each role a "Native Speaker and Translation Specialist", so some movement between the variety and standard Hindi may be involved, but the listing's task description is about recording and review.
Who fits
- Native-level fluency in Awadhi, Bundeli or Haryanvi
- A deep understanding of that variety's pronunciation, accent, phrasing, tone and cultural nuance
- A clear speaking voice and a careful ear for pronunciation or phrasing problems
- The discipline to follow detailed project guidelines
The listing asks you to choose the variety you are most comfortable using for voice and audio evaluation, not the one you know about. It names no degree, years of experience or required country of residence.
What it pays
$17.00 an hour at the listing's "Advanced" tier, the rate Invisible uses across most of its voice and dialect work, including the Kansai, Cordobés and Cantonese listings. For a contractor based in India, a US dollar hourly rate is well above typical local rates for language work.
Contract terms on the listing: independent contractor basis, fully remote, your own schedule, payment issued weekly via Stripe or Wise. Invisible cannot support H1-B or STEM OPT contractors.
Timing: expect a wait
The listing is candid that the project is still scaling. Invisible says it is assembling a group of experts ahead of launch, that reviewing submissions and sharing decisions may take some time, and that selected applicants will be notified by email. Completing the assessment may also put you in line for similar roles later. This listing had been up about three months when we read it, so apply without expecting paid hours straight away.
Getting started
Two steps before paid work: upload your résumé (about 5 minutes) and unlock paid projects (about 30 minutes), the second being an unpaid qualification. Select a single dialect track when you apply.
Worth knowing
Good:
- One of very few AI data projects hiring for Awadhi, Bundeli or Haryanvi at all
- USD pay that compares well with Indian rates for language work
- Remote, on your own schedule
- Completing the assessment may count toward future roles
Less good:
- Pre-launch: review and decisions may be slow, and paid work is not immediate
- Only one dialect track per applicant
- $17 an hour is modest by global standards
- Unpaid qualification before any paid work
- No guaranteed hours; projects can end early
- No H1-B or STEM OPT contractors
About this listing
Read on Invisible's Meridial marketplace on 26 September 2026; it had been posted about three months before we read it. The rate, tracks, tasks, timing note and contract terms are Invisible's own text; the regional background on the three varieties and the pay comparison are ours. The client is not named.
