Egocentric Video Data Collector: Singapore (Insta360 X5 Required)
Rex.Zone: pay and who it accepts · Posted
What you'll do
You wear an Insta360 X5 on your head and record continuous first-person video, about 10 minutes at a time, while you go about normal life in Singapore. The ad lists cooking, cleaning, laundry, working or studying, shopping and errands, commuting and walking, gardening, drawing or playing music, and pet care as typical activities. It is explicitly not acting and not scripted: the aim is realistic footage from the wearer's own point of view, the kind of data used to train AI that has to understand daily human activity.
Singapore has the best rate of the six country versions of this head-mounted video project, at $120/hour, three times the South African figure. The work is the same as elsewhere: wear an Insta360 X5 and record continuous first-person clips of ordinary life.
You also log basic information per recording (the activity and the setting), follow the camera setup instructions, record in eligible home, outdoor and sometimes commercial settings, and complete training and sample recordings before full production starts. The work is flexible and project-based.
What you need
- Residence in Singapore; the ad is limited to it
- Your own Insta360 X5 (the ad calls it required)
- Willingness to be recorded going about everyday routines and to follow the project's privacy, consent and data collection rules
- Time to complete training and sample recordings first
What it pays
The ad states $120/hour as a single number. That tops Australia and New Zealand ($110), Canada ($100), the United Kingdom ($95) and South Africa ($40). The ad does not explain the spread or say how payment is made.
Worth knowing
Good:
- The highest rate of the six country versions
- No degree or specialist experience is listed; the work is recording your own routines
Less good:
- The Insta360 X5 is required and the ad does not say whether it is supplied
- Recording in public spaces and around other people means you must meet the ad's privacy and consent rules
- Training and sample recordings come before full production; the ad does not say whether that stage is paid
