Advertising Expert

What you'll do

You judge whether an AI model can do what a working media buyer or creative strategist does: pick an audience, frame an offer, write a hook and a call to action, and plan a test. You read model output for weak messaging hierarchy, claims that would get an ad rejected, and targeting logic that does not follow from the brief. You also write the reference material yourself: ad variations, creative briefs, landing page critiques and testing roadmaps with the reasoning shown.

The ad stresses regulated categories, so compliance and platform policy fit are part of the job, not an afterthought.

Who fits

  • Five or more years in advertising or performance marketing, agency or in-house, with real ownership of campaigns
  • A degree in marketing, communications, business or similar, or equivalent professional experience
  • Working knowledge of positioning, offer strategy, messaging frameworks, hooks and creative iteration
  • Experience on some of Meta, Google Ads and YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, programmatic or connected TV
  • Fluency in CTR, CVR, CPA, ROAS and LTV, plus a sense of attribution limits and experiment design
  • English at C1 or above with strong writing and editing

Experience in creative QA, editorial review or ad policy review, or earlier AI training work, is strongly preferred.

The role is open in 17 countries, mainly South and Southeast Asia, with Brazil, Germany and the United States as the outliers.

What it pays

SME's listing says up to $70 an hour, with no floor. At that ceiling it sits above the Accountant role ($65) and below SME's engineering roles such as Android ($110). The listing does not state how or when you are paid; the company page covers SME's Deel payout cycle.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Rare chance to be paid for ad strategy judgment rather than ad production
  • Output is writing and analysis you can do alone, remotely
  • Policy and compliance knowledge, usually an overhead skill, is the thing being paid for

Less good:

  • No immediate project is attached; you join a pool
  • Up to $70 is a ceiling, and the ad does not say how rates are set
  • Experience across several ad channels is expected, which can screen out specialists in one platform

About this listing

Posted on SME Careers (sme.careers), where SuperAnnotate hires subject matter experts, and read on 27 October 2026. The board gives no posting date. The duties, requirements and pay are SME's own text; the comparisons and commentary are ours. The interview, Deel contract, bootcamp and time tracking are covered on the company page rather than repeated here. The ad says there is no immediate project for this role; qualified applicants are among the first contacted when relevant work opens, which also gives access to future projects in the expert network.
