Arabic Language Expert

What you'll do

You work in two languages. The job is reviewing AI answers in Arabic and English for accuracy, logic and clarity, ranking competing responses, and writing bilingual training content and model solutions. The ad is specific about Arabic: strong writing and editing in Modern Standard Arabic plus at least one major dialect, with Egyptian Arabic preferred.

Because the evaluation also covers reasoning, you are expected to catch answers that read fluently but get the method or the facts wrong, not only language slips.

Who fits

  • Native or near-native Arabic with strong writing and editing in Modern Standard Arabic and one major dialect (Egyptian preferred)
  • English at C1 or above, reading and writing
  • Three or more years in translation, localisation, editorial QA, content quality or linguistic review, or equivalent
  • A degree in linguistics, translation, Arabic, communications, journalism or a related field
  • Habit of fact-checking against reputable sources

Familiarity with Arabic localisation conventions for MENA and earlier AI evaluation work are preferred.

The role is open to applicants in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and South Africa.

What it pays

SME's listing says up to $15 an hour with no floor. That is the lowest tier on the board: the Arabic Team Lead role runs up to $40 on a range starting at $0, and the Accountant role goes to $65. The listing does not state how or when you are paid; the company page covers SME's Deel payout cycle.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Native-language work you can do from anywhere in the three eligible countries
  • Dialect knowledge is valued, not just Modern Standard Arabic
  • A Team Lead role exists for people who want to move up

Less good:

  • The ceiling of $15 an hour is low for a role asking for three years of professional experience and a degree
  • No immediate project; you join a pool
  • Only Egypt, Saudi Arabia and South Africa are accepted

About this listing

Posted on SME Careers (sme.careers), where SuperAnnotate hires subject matter experts, and read on 27 October 2026. The board gives no posting date. The duties, requirements and pay are SME's own text; the comparisons and commentary are ours. The interview, Deel contract, bootcamp and time tracking are covered on the company page rather than repeated here. The ad says there is no immediate project for this role; qualified applicants are among the first contacted when relevant work opens, which also gives access to future projects in the expert network.
