Biomedical Engineer

What you'll do

You test AI models on biomedical engineering and write the corrections. The ad lists the topics: biomechanics, bioinstrumentation and sensors, biomedical signals, medical device design, biomaterials, imaging and measurement, and verification, validation and risk. You review model answers and solutions for factual errors, unit mistakes, missing assumptions, misuse of standards and unsafe or unsupported clinical claims.

A stated goal is to shape how models explain risk and limits: what has to be verified experimentally and when to hand off to clinical or regulatory experts.

Who fits

  • Four or more years in biomedical engineering, with hands-on work in areas such as medical devices, biomechanics, biomaterials, bioinstrumentation, imaging, clinical engineering, quality or validation
  • A bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or a close field; a master's or PhD is strongly preferred
  • Strong grasp of fundamentals, including physiology for engineers, biomechanics, biosignals and systems modelling
  • Comfort with assumptions, units and defensible reasoning, including uncertainty and safety

Familiarity with ISO 13485, IEC 60601, ISO 14971, 21 CFR 820, ISO 10993 or clinical workflow constraints is a plus, not required. AI data work is a strong plus. The ad lists no skills section.

The role is open in 21 countries across South and Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, Brazil and the United States.

What it pays

SME's listing says up to $100 an hour, with no floor. The ad is tagged associate level on SME's side while asking for four years, so check the bar before applying. The listing does not state how or when you are paid; the company page covers SME's Deel payout cycle.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • High ceiling for engineering review work
  • Safety and regulatory awareness are central, so standards knowledge is directly useful
  • Open in 21 countries, including Canada, Australia and the UK

Less good:

  • The listing combines an associate-level tag with a four-year requirement
  • The ad states no immediate-project note either way, so work timing is unclear
  • Up to $100 is a ceiling
