Legal Expert

What you'll do

You act as a legal reviewer for AI. Given a model's legal analysis, you check the issue-spotting, test the rule statements and citations, find errors in methodology or doctrine, and write explanations and model answers that show the correct reasoning path.

The ad stresses breadth (constitutional law, contracts, torts, criminal law, civil procedure, regulatory and administrative law) and the ability to identify missing facts and assumptions that change an outcome. The ad says there is no immediate project for this role; qualified applicants are first in line when a relevant project opens, and the role gives access to future projects through the expert network.

Who fits

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in law (JD/LLB), legal studies, public policy or political science, with grounding in constitutional law, contracts, torts, criminal law, civil procedure and administrative law
  • 5+ years in law, legal studies, public policy or political science
  • Statutory interpretation, case analysis and turning facts into elements and defences
  • Fluency with compliance concepts and rights-and-obligations analysis
  • Exceptional attention to detail on rule statements, citations and procedural posture
  • C1 English and clear, structured written feedback

Nice to have

  • Previous AI data training, expert review, legal editing or QA (strongly preferred)

What it pays

The ad states up to $115 an hour, a ceiling. Within the legal listings in this batch it sits between the Legal Researcher (up to $110) and the Legal QAL and Rubric Design roles (up to $120). The listing does not publish payment terms; the process and payout details are on the company page.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Very high ceiling for review work
  • Not limited to one jurisdiction on the ad
  • Open in 16 countries, a wide spread for a legal role

Less good:

  • The ad does not say which legal system applies to which country, so check in the interview
  • No project open yet
  • 5+ years required
  • Monitored hourly pay
