Thai Language Expert
What you'll do
You review AI-written Thai and write reference answers, scoring fluency, correctness, tone and cultural fit. Thai gives the job some specifics the ad spells out: politeness particles and formality levels, tone switching between customer-support and casual writing, and conventions around spelling, punctuation and word spacing.
You also rank multiple AI answers and flag unsafe or misleading content. The ad says there is no immediate project for this role. If you qualify you are placed among the first experts contacted when a relevant project opens, so this is a waiting list for future work, not a start date.
What you need
- A bachelor's degree or higher in a field such as Linguistics, Thai or English Literature, Communications, Journalism or Translation, or equivalent professional experience
- Native or near-native Thai, reading and writing
- English at C1 or above
- 3+ years in writing, editing, localization, translation, content QA, journalism or education
- Deep command of Thai writing conventions and register
- Comfort with politeness levels and honorific phrasing
Nice to have
- Earlier AI data training, translation or editorial QA, or rubric-based evaluation
Where it is open
Applicants must be in Cambodia, Malaysia or Thailand.
What it pays
SME Careers lists this role at up to $20 an hour. That is a ceiling, not a rate: the ad does not say what a typical contractor earns, or how hours are allocated. It does not state payment terms either; SuperAnnotate's general process (Deel contracts, a paid bootcamp, tracked hourly work) is covered on the company page. The Thai Team Lead listing goes up to $30, $10 more than this expert role.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Equivalent professional experience can stand in for the degree
- Thai politeness and register skills are the actual selling point
- Remote, hourly, no coding
Less good:
- No project is open yet
- Up to $20 is a ceiling
- Only three countries are accepted, and the list excludes Thai speakers elsewhere
About this listing
Read from the SME Careers jobs board on 27 October 2026. The board gives no posting date, so we cannot say how long the role has been open. The interview, onboarding and time-tracking process is on the company page rather than repeated here. See SuperAnnotate.
