What you'll do

You review inpatient medical records, including FHIR data and clinical notes, as training material for an AI project on clinical documentation and decision support. For each record you check that claims and statements are supported by the documentation, and you go through the HPI, PMH, assessments and care plans looking for discrepancies or omissions.

You apply consistent standards from clear guidelines, then turn findings into detailed, actionable feedback for the project team, in writing and in discussions with stakeholders. The work is remote and contract-based.

What you need

  • An MD or DO, board certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics or Hospital Medicine
  • Current or recent hands-on inpatient or hospitalist experience (within the past 2 years preferred)
  • Expertise in patient assessment, diagnosis and hospital-based care workflows
  • The ability to critique clinical notes and raw health record data with close attention to detail
  • Clear written and verbal communication

Nice to have

  • Experience with chart review, clinical documentation improvement, utilization review or medical coding/QA

What it pays

$100–115/hour, micro1's published band for this listing. The ad does not state weekly hours, project length or payment schedule.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • A high hourly band that sits above most of micro1's general hospitalist listings
  • 50 openings, flagged high demand
  • Chart review plays to inpatient experience directly, with no AI background asked for

Less good:

  • Limited to US-based applicants
  • Board certification in a named specialty is the stated bar, which narrows the field
  • Record review and written critique can be repetitive
  • No hours, duration or customer published; contractor terms with no benefits
