What you'll do
You work on a customer project that is improving legal AI systems. The day-to-day is close reading: you review and annotate agreements, case law and other legal documents against U.S. legal standards, check citations against Bluebook format, and edit or grade legal writing samples that end up as training data. You also give feedback on how a sample argument is structured and how it uses precedent, and you check AI outputs for legal accuracy.
The work is remote and runs alongside project managers and other legal experts. The ad does not state weekly hours or a project length.
What you need
- A legal background in the U.S. system; the ad prefers a J.D. from a U.S. law school, with a strong preference for T14 alumni or current students
- Law review or legal journal editing experience, which the ad lists as required for law students
- Exceptional Bluebook and cite-checking skills
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Some document review, legal analysis or paralegal experience in the U.S. system
- No prior AI experience is needed
What it pays
micro1's listing states $50–80 per hour. It does not say whether that is time-based or paid per completed task, so confirm the pay mechanism during onboarding before you plan around the top of the band. The ad does not state a payment schedule.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Ten openings, and the card flags the role as high demand
- Bluebook and cite-checking skill is the centre of the job, which suits recent graduates and law review alumni
- Remote, with a band that sits well above typical junior legal support rates
Less good:
- The T14 preference and law review editing requirement narrow the field in practice
- No hours, duration or screening steps are stated
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, and you manage your own tax
- The customer is not named
