Bengali Team Lead

What you'll do

You supervise quality on Bengali AI projects. In practice that means spot-checking items, giving feedback in direct messages, updating trainers and QAs on Discord when guidelines change, and following up with contributors who are inactive. Questions that reach you are Bengali-specific, including wording and register, translation fidelity, cultural context and the differences between Bangladesh and West Bengal usage.

You also write and maintain the project documentation (style guides, FAQs, trackers, honeypots), run onboarding and training calls, and look for recurring quality gaps to fix.

Who fits

  • A bachelor's or master's in Bengali, linguistics, translation, communications, journalism, English, education or QA
  • Native or near-native Bengali with strong reading and writing, plus good English for guidelines and feedback
  • Three or more years in Bengali writing, editing, translation, localisation, content QA, AI training or annotation
  • Command of Bengali grammar, spelling, punctuation, tone, register and regional variation
  • Experience leading remote teams is strongly preferred

LLM evaluation, prompt and response review or rubric-based QA experience is a strong plus.

The role is open to applicants in Bangladesh, India, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

What it pays

SME's listing says up to $25 an hour with no floor. That is $10 above the Bengali Language Expert ceiling ($15), and slightly below the Assamese Team Lead ($30). The listing does not state how or when you are paid; the company page covers SME's Deel payout cycle.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • A visible step up from the expert seat in the same language
  • Regional usage knowledge (Bangladesh and West Bengal) is explicitly valued
  • Builds documentation and training experience

Less good:

  • Selection includes an AI interview, a domain task and a recruiter interview
  • No immediate-project note on the ad, so start timing is unclear
  • Up to $25 is a ceiling

The ad says selection involves an AI interview, a domain-specific task and an interview with a recruiter. See SuperAnnotate.
