Chinese Language Expert
What you'll do
You judge and write Chinese-language AI training content. Day to day that means rating and comparing several AI answers for correctness and reasoning, fact-checking them, and writing the model answer when the AI gets it wrong. What sets this listing apart from the usual language-expert template is the vocabulary of professional localization: the ad wants MQM/LQA thinking (error severity, category and root cause), CAT-tool fluency (translation memory, termbases, automated checks) and rigorous fact-checking of units, names and dates.
Note a mismatch in the ad itself: it asks for Chinese (Traditional) proficiency and "locale conventions for China", while the eligible countries are China, Macau and Taiwan. The ad does not explain which written standard each project will use, so ask before assuming.
Who fits
- A degree in translation, linguistics, localization, communications or similar
- Native or near-native Chinese and at least C1 English
- 5+ years of professional localization or translation work, multilingual preferred
- Demonstrated MQM/LQA practice and CAT-tool proficiency
- Prior AI data training or annotation experience is preferred, not required
What it pays
Up to $35 an hour according to the listing; no minimum is given. The five-year bar makes this a senior profile for a ceiling that is modest next to technical SME roles. The listing does not publish payment method or cadence; SuperAnnotate's general terms are on the company page.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Suits experienced localization reviewers, whose existing MQM habits transfer directly
- Open to three jurisdictions, unlike the China-only QA lead listing
- Fully remote, hourly
Less good:
- The ad opens with a notice that there is no immediate project for this role; qualified applicants are promised to be among the first contacted when work appears, so a successful application may mean waiting.
- The Traditional versus China wording in the ad is unclear
- Hourly work on SME projects is tracked with monitoring software, per the company page.
