English Language Expert
What you'll do
You evaluate English text produced by AI models and, where asked, produce the English they should have written. Reviewing means judging accuracy, clarity and fidelity to the prompt, finding errors in logic or meaning, writing corrected versions with an explanation of the fix, and ranking several responses against each other. On the content side you create prompts on varied topics and answers that show good practice.
The ad frames the work as three jobs: develop training content, rank responses for accuracy and fluency, and test models for inaccuracy or bias. Stylistic editing across registers (tone, terminology, punctuation, capitalisation) is the core skill, applied to whatever topic the batch brings.
Who fits
- A degree in linguistics, English, translation or localisation, communications, journalism or a related field
- English at C1 minimum, with C2 or native level preferred
- Strong grammar, syntax, semantics and pragmatics, and the ability to explain corrections in writing
- Comfortable applying style guides and enforcing consistency
- Hands-on use of AI tools such as Perplexity, Gemini and ChatGPT
Professional proficiency in a second language is strongly preferred, as is prior AI training, editorial QA or copyediting. The listing is open in 27 countries, mostly in Europe, plus Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the US.
What it pays
Up to $25 an hour per the ad, with no floor. It is the lowest ceiling among the language-expert roles in this batch. The ad does not describe payment terms; SuperAnnotate's company page covers the Deel contract, paid bootcamp and monitoring software that apply across its hourly projects.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Wide country list for a remote role
- No years of experience are stated, unlike most other SME language roles
- Remote and hourly
Less good:
- Lower stated ceiling than comparable language roles
- English reviewers are plentiful, so competition may be higher
- No hours, project length or start date published
