Fintech and Crypto Expert
What you'll do
You grade and write material on money movement and crypto. That means reviewing AI responses on payments flows, blockchain concepts, custody and key management, fraud and AML, and regulatory awareness, then writing prompts and gold-standard answers, ranking competing responses, and flagging unsafe financial guidance or false certainty. Smart-contract risk is covered at a conceptual level, not as code audit.
The job is judgment on correctness and safety: units, fees, timelines and security assumptions have to be consistent, and a model that sounds sure about a chargeback or a token mechanic it has wrong is the failure you are paid to catch.
Who fits
- Bachelor's degree or higher in finance, economics, computer science, engineering or business, or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years in fintech, payments, banking, crypto or an adjacent area (product, operations, risk, compliance, research, engineering or consulting)
- Working knowledge of authorization and settlement, chargebacks, fees and rails such as card networks, ACH and wires
- Crypto fundamentals: transaction lifecycle, consensus at a high level, on-chain versus off-chain, token mechanics
- A risk mindset (fraud, account takeover, social engineering, custody) and high-level KYC/AML and consumer-protection awareness
- C1 English at minimum; prior AI data work, financial content QA or technical writing is strongly preferred
What it pays
SME Careers lists up to $100 an hour, the highest band in this batch. No floor is given and the ad does not say what a typical expert earns. The ad does not say how payment is made or how often; the hiring process and payout terms SME publishes are covered on the SuperAnnotate page.
Worth knowing
Good:
- A senior-level ceiling for work done remotely from many countries
- Real domain depth is the bar, so it suits practitioners rather than generalists
- Open across 17 countries, mostly in South and Southeast Asia, plus Brazil, Germany and the United States
Less good:
- The ad says there is no immediate project; qualified applicants are contacted when relevant work arises, so approval may not mean hours
- Five years of fintech or crypto experience is a high bar
- Hourly projects use time tracking, and only active time is paid
About this listing
Listed on SME Careers, the site where SuperAnnotate hires subject matter experts, and read from its jobs board on 27 October 2026. The board gives no posting date, so we cannot say how long it has been up. Pay, duties and requirements are SME's own text; the commentary is ours. See SuperAnnotate.
