Labeling Jobs

Korean Language Expert

What you'll do

This is aimed at working localisation professionals, not generalist Korean speakers. You evaluate AI responses and write language content, applying senior translation and localisation judgment to terminology, tone and cultural nuance, with fact-checking of units, names, dates and references.

What sets it apart from other language listings is the quality framework: the ad expects you to use MQM and LQA concepts (error category, severity, root cause) to make consistent decisions, and to be comfortable with CAT tools, translation memories, termbases and automated checks. The ad says there is no immediate project for this role; qualified applicants are first in line when a relevant project opens, and the role gives access to future projects through the expert network.

Who fits

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in translation, linguistics, localisation, communications or a related field
  • Native or near-native Korean and command of South Korean locale conventions
  • English at C1 or above
  • 5+ years of professional localisation or translation work
  • Demonstrated use of MQM/LQA concepts
  • Proficiency with CAT tools and QA workflows
  • Based in South Korea (explicit location requirement)

Nice to have

  • Multilingual localisation experience (strongly preferred)
  • Previous AI data training, annotation or evaluation work

What it pays

The ad states up to $40 an hour, a ceiling rather than a rate. It matches the Korean Document Annotation Expert ceiling; the Korean Team Lead (QAL) lists up to $45. The listing does not publish payment terms; the process and payout details are on the company page.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Your localisation track record counts directly, including MQM training
  • Fact-checking and reference-writing make it more varied than scoring alone
  • One of the better-paying language roles in this batch

Less good:

  • The 5+ year bar and degree filter are steep
  • South Korea only
  • No project is open yet
  • Hourly work with monitoring software
