What you'll do

You review AI responses to physics problems and judge the reasoning, not just the final number. The ad lists errors in calculations, methodology and conceptual understanding as your targets. You fact-check physics information, write explanations and model solutions that show correct methods, and rate several AI answers against each other. You also write prompts and reference answers, and test models for inaccuracy and bias.

Who fits

• An MS or PhD in physics or a related field from a top-100 university (the ad's wording)
• Confidence in mechanics, electromagnetism, optics, thermodynamics and statistical mechanics, and modelling
• Experience developing or critically reviewing complex physics content, such as problem banks, proofs, textbook sections or research notes
• Fact-checking from public sources across domains, and clear communication of advanced theory
• C1 English with excellent writing
• Preferred: research, analytical writing, programming, peer-reviewed publication; bonus for data labelling, RLHF or AI model evaluation

The role is open to applicants in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, India, New Zealand, the UK and the US.

What it pays

Up to $70 an hour on an hourly contract, per the ad. The Physics Quality Assurance Lead listing from the same employer pays up to $75 but is narrower (India and the US).

Worth knowing

Good:

• Pay that reflects a graduate-level bar, with eight eligible countries
• Subfields named in the skills include medical, laser, nuclear, computational and experimental physics, so specialists fit
• Remote and hourly

Less good:

• The "top 100 universities" requirement is a hard filter that the ad does not define (no ranking is named)
• Peer-reviewed publication is listed, which raises the bar for early-career applicants
• No hours or project length published
