Finnish Language Expert

What you'll do

You assess Finnish text from AI models and write the version it should have produced. The review covers accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone and cultural fit, plus mistranslation, register slips and ambiguity. You rank competing answers and write rewrites and gold answers across general knowledge, customer support, education and conversational writing.

The Finnish-specific points in the ad are the case system, word order, compounds and punctuation, and the ability to explain why a form is wrong. It also expects you to adapt between formal and informal registers, to produce "selkokieli" (plain Finnish) when a project calls for it, and to tell apart Finland-facing from global-audience text.

Who fits

• A degree in linguistics, Finnish or English literature, communications, journalism or translation, or equivalent professional experience
• Native or near-native Finnish, reading and writing
• English at C1 or above
• 3+ years in writing, editing, localisation, translation, content QA, journalism or education
• Close attention to meaning shifts, literal translations and hallucinated claims

Prior AI training, translation QA or rubric-based evaluation is strongly preferred. Applicants may be in Finland, Norway, Sweden or the US, which suits Finnish speakers living abroad.

What it pays

Up to $50 an hour per the ad, no floor. It is the highest ceiling among the language-expert listings in this batch, above Dutch at $45.
