German Language Expert
What you'll do
You review German content that AI models produce and write the version that should have been produced. The ad frames it as senior localization and translation judgment: terminology, tone, inclusivity and cultural nuance, with facts checked (units, references, names, dates). You also rank multiple AI responses and explain the call.
This is the more formal-QA German listing of the pair: the ad asks for MQM/LQA concepts (severity, category and root cause) rather than general language fluency alone.
Who fits
- Bachelor's degree or higher in German translation, linguistics, localization, communications or a related field
- Native or near-native German and strong command of locale conventions for Germany
- 5+ years of professional localization or translation experience; multilingual localization strongly preferred
- MQM/LQA fluency and proficiency with CAT tools, translation memory, termbases and automated checks
- C1 English; AI data training or evaluation experience is preferred
What it pays
SME Careers lists up to $50 an hour, with no floor. The German Team Lead listing, at up to $60, pays a step more for a coordinating role. The ad does not say how payment is made or how often; the hiring process and payout terms SME publishes are covered on the SuperAnnotate page.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Pay and seniority both reward a professional localization background
- Specific, established methodology (MQM) rather than vague "language skills"
- Fully remote, hourly
Less good:
- Eligibility is unclear: the board lists Austria, Germany and Switzerland, but the ad text says "Only candidates based in Germany will be considered". Confirm before spending time on the interview
- The ad says there is no immediate project
- Five years of professional localization is a high bar
About this listing
Listed on SME Careers, the site where SuperAnnotate hires subject matter experts, and read from its jobs board on 27 October 2026. The board gives no posting date, so we cannot say how long it has been up. The location line in the ad text (Germany only) conflicts with the three-country list on the board; we kept the board list and flagged the difference. Pay, duties and requirements are SME's own text; the commentary is ours. See SuperAnnotate.
