Norwegian Team Lead
What you'll do
This is a supervisory seat on Norwegian projects rather than a pure reviewing job. You spot-check Norwegian items and trainer or QA work against the project rubric, send feedback through direct messages and escalate recurring faults. You also keep the written side running: style guides, trackers, FAQs, example banks and honeypots, plus onboarding calls for new contributors. Questions from the team land with you, especially on Bokmål versus Nynorsk, register, translation fidelity and edge cases. You chase contributors who have gone quiet and flag availability gaps.
Who fits
- Native or near-native Norwegian with strong reading and writing, and good English for guidelines and feedback
- A bachelor's or master's in Norwegian, linguistics, translation, communications, journalism, education or a related field
- 3+ years in Norwegian writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training or annotation
- Comfort with Bokmål and/or Nynorsk and the terminology differences between them
- Leading or supporting remote teams is strongly preferred; the ad names Discord, Google Sheets and Docs and trackers as the working tools
- AI training or rubric-based LLM QA is a strong plus
Applicants must be in Norway.
What it pays
Up to $60 an hour on an hourly contract, per the ad. That is $5 above the Norwegian language expert listing, so the step up for taking on coordination is modest.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Higher ceiling than the reviewer role, and a path from reviewing into running a language team
- Documentation and onboarding work builds a visible track record in a niche language
- Remote and hourly
Less good:
- The ad says there is no immediate project for this role; qualified applicants are among the first contacted when work arises, so this is a place in an expert pool rather than a seat on a live project.
- The ad lists a selection process of an AI interview, a domain-specific task and a recruiter interview. The company page covers the wider hiring flow, Deel contracting and time tracking.
- Much of the job is messaging and chasing people rather than language work, and tracked time is what gets paid
- Norway-only eligibility
About this listing
Posted on SME Careers, the hiring site SuperAnnotate uses for expert contractors, and read from its jobs board on 27 October 2026. The board gives no posting date, so we have not stated one. The comparison with the Norwegian expert listing is ours; everything else is from the ad. The hiring process, Deel contracting and monitoring rules are covered on the company page. See SuperAnnotate.
